"What's the point?" I found myself repeating this question incessantly throughout the seemingly endless journey of "Bob Marley: One Love." This biopic feels flattened, lacking in perspective or originality.
It joins a slew of musical origin stories that seem more interested in pushing new album sales than in crafting a compelling narrative. While films like "Bohemian Rhapsody" or "Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody" may have their faults, they at least attempt to capture the essence of their iconic subjects. However, "One Love" stumbles through uneven plotting and hollow dialogue, treating Marley as nothing more than a record skip disrupting its jukebox melody.
